English Country Dance Information

English Country Dance is fun, relatively easy, community-oriented dancing with great live music. (You may have seen some of the dancing in the current Jane Austen films.) As always, beginners and singles are welcome. All dances will be taught. Easiest dances are taught in the early part of the evening, so please arrive on time if you're new to dancing. Casual dress is fine. Come as you are and bring a friend.

                                DIRECTIONS to Fisher House in WOODS HOLE:

 
From the Bourne Bridge Rotary: Take Route 28 South about 13 miles. Divided highway ends at Falmouth. Continue 1 mile; go straight through traffic light (from R lane), following signs for Woods Hole & Islands. After 1/2 mile, bear R at Y junction towards Woods Hole. Continue about 3 miles, passing 1 traffic light (at Quissett) and 1 flashing yellow (at fire station). Continue <1 mile, pass Harbor Hill Road and Sleepy Hollow Motel on R, and look for Church St. on L (Episcopal Church sign). Turn left on Church St.; Fisher House is 1st building on R, across from Church of the Messiah. 

 
From Falmouth: head for Woods Hole and the Steamship Authority ferry terminal, south on Woods Hole Road. (Local details above.)
 
From the Islands: Woods Hole Ferry, and a short walk north.

 

Park in the church parking lot on your left just beyond Church of the Messiah and the cemetery. (On street parking is no longer available.)

 

Come early and catch dinner in Woods Hole town, or drive further along Church Street to see the sunset from Nobska lighthouse.
